Things to Know: Legally Required Certifications and Clearance
- LiveScan Fingerprinting
All Bel Passi Baseball volunteers (head coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and board members) MUST be LiveScan fingerprinted/ background check. More information will be provided about LiveScan when you return your coaching application. Please contact our baseball commissioner or team parent coordinator with any LiveScan questions. - Bel Passi Volunteer Badge
- All Bel Passi volunteers (head coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and board members) are required to carry a Bel Passi badge while at practice or the ballpark. Badges require a $3 fee and a cleared LiveScan.
- Concussion Training
Though less common than in other sports, concussions do happen in baseball, and our players' safety is always of the highest importance. Effective in 2018, all Bel Passi coaches and assistants must complete online concussion training and present their certificate of completion prior to the draft. This certification must be renewed every year.

- Cardiac Arrest Training
Effective in 2020, all Bel Passi coaches and assistants must complete online cardiac arrest training and present their certificate of completion prior to the draft. This certification must be renewed every year. When completing the training, be sure to choose California and Order Course. The course is free.

- Mandated Reporter Training
- Effective in 2021, all Bel Passi coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, board members, and employee leads are required to take mandated reporter training every two years. Bel Passi is making the training available. When completing the training, be sure to choose the General Training course. The course is free.

- Abuse Awareness Training (SB 534)
Effective in 2022, all Bel Passi coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and board members must complete online Abuse Awareness training, and present their certificate of completion prior to the draft. This certification must be renewed every year. When completing the training, click Get Started and register for an account. The course is free.
